Corfiot Specialties

Pork Pita Gyro from Filaraki Restaurant in Acharavi

When you hear about Mediterranean food, Corfu should come to mind. The vast cuisine options are not only delicious but healthy.

The island is dominated by olive groves which blanket most of the island. The fresh high quality oil is essential for consumption.
Wine created from the dry-soiled slopes are available at just about every restaurant, tavern, or fast food establishment.
Fresh local fruits and vegetables can be found at an outdoor market or any town, village, or even alongside roadways for your convenience.
The superb crystal clear waters of the Ionian sea allow delicious fresh seafood delivered to a local fish market or prepared at most restaurants. On most menu's you will notice an aubergine (British) option which are essentially eggplants. Sometimes they incorporate that into a dish or if you prefer not to consume meat, you can make a simple request.
